How MainScout publishes.
Our editorial standards are designed to make gaming coverage useful, traceable and independent.
Effective: September 14, 2026
Accuracy first
MainScout aims to distinguish confirmed information from interpretation, prediction and rumor. Release dates, platform availability and major product claims should be checked against current, identifiable sources before publication.
Source priority
We prioritize first-party materials such as official developer and publisher announcements, platform newsrooms, support pages, patch notes, regulatory filings and direct statements. Articles include source links when they materially support the story.
Original work
MainScout does not copy third-party articles. Facts may be reported from attributed sources, but structure, analysis and wording should be original. Short quotations are used only when necessary and are attributed.
Reviews and opinion
Reviews and opinion pieces should be labeled clearly. A reviewer should explain the basis of an assessment, including relevant platform, access conditions and material limitations. Opinions belong to the identified author and may differ from those of a developer or publisher.
Corrections
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. Where a correction substantially changes the meaning of an article, MainScout should add a visible correction or update note. Typographical and formatting fixes may be made without a separate note.
Commercial independence
Advertising, affiliate arrangements, free access, review copies or sponsorships do not purchase favorable editorial conclusions. Sponsored content and material commercial relationships should be disclosed clearly.
AI-assisted tools
MainScout may use digital and AI-assisted tools for research support, drafting, translation, formatting or original illustration. Published claims remain subject to human editorial responsibility, verification and correction. AI-generated images should not be presented as official game artwork.
Rights and attribution
Game names and trademarks belong to their owners. Images and other third-party materials should be used only when permission, licensing or an appropriate editorial basis exists, with attribution where required.
